International Fireproof Technology Inc. (IFTI) has developed DC315 fireproof paint, a water based intumescent coatings that can be used as a thermal barrier for spray foam. Spray polyurethane foam insulation is very flammable, and cannot be left uncovered to be exposed to sparks or fire. DC315 spray applied thermal barrier has been tested to CAN/ULC-S124 and CAN/ULC-9705 and has been evaluated by the Canadian Construction Materials Centre (CCMC) to be a suitable spray foam thermal barrier in accordance to section 9 of the National Building Code (NBC) of Canada.

Technical Specifications

Water-based, can be applied in temperatures as low as 10°C, must be installed with ambient humidity over 85% or within 3°C of the dew point.
Compatible with sprayers capable of 3000PSI, 1Gal/minute or higher and a tip size between 517-523.
For single component (single pump sprayers).
Minimum of a 4-hour dry time between coats
