Spray Foam Training Nova Scotia

Polysource Industries

Nova Scotia Spray Foam Course Information

Jump to Course
Our professional spray foam training in Canada is held periodically throughout the year, serving the Canadian Maritimes and Nova Scotia. Depending on class sizes and registration numbers, these sessions may take place locally in Nova Scotia, elsewhere in a neighboring province, or at the Enerlab headquarters located in Saint-Mathieu-de-Beloeil, QC. To legally purchase and apply polyurethane foam in compliance with the CAN/ULC S705.2 standard, all installers must hold a valid license. Urethane Foam Consultants (UFC) serves as the independent, third-party licensing body for Enerlab's signature spray foam, Enerthane Eco. If you are interested in expanding your skill set with specialized courses in polyurea protective coatings (such as Platinum Liners and RoofArmor) or concrete lifting and leveling (ProLift), please reach out to your local Polysource representative for details.

Course Rationale

Applicable Standard: CAN/ULC-S705.2 (Standard for Thermal Insulation Spray Applied Rigid Polyurethane Foam, Medium Density – Installation)

Affiliated Quality Assurance Provider (QAP): Urethane Foam Consultants (UFC)

Delivery Partner: Polysource Industries Inc.

Designed in strict alignment with the CAN/ULC-S705.2 national standard, this course bridges the gap between building science theory and mechanical execution for medium-density spray foam application in Canada. Delivered in partnership with Polysource Industries Inc. and certified through Urethane Foam Consultants (UFC), this program provides the mandatory educational framework required for legal licensing under the National Building Code. By blending classroom theory with live, hands-on field application, the training ensures installers are fully compliant, safety-conscious, and mechanically self-reliant on-site.

Core Learning Objectives & Value:

Regulatory Compliance: Meets all CAN/ULC standards, municipal codes, and site logbook (Daily Work Record) documentation requirements to mitigate contractor liability.

Chemical & Material Mastery: Teaches fluid dynamics, substrate moisture testing, and environmental monitoring (dew point, relative humidity) to optimize chemical yield and prevent delamination.

Mechanical Competency: Provides direct, practical experience configuring, operating, and troubleshooting high-pressure plural-component systems (like Graco Reactor platforms), transfer pumps, and spray guns.

On-Site Safety: Focuses on job-site containment strategies, proper personal protective equipment (PPE) deployment, and fresh-air supplied respirator protocols.

Product Info

Polyurethane foam is a plural-component material created by mixing an A-side (isocyanate "activator") and a B-side (resin, which is a proprietary blend of polyols, surfactants, blowing agents, and fire retardants). Enerthane Eco is a high-performance, 2lb medium-density spray polyurethane foam. Because of the nature of the material, a respirator and full personal protective equipment (PPE) are strictly required during application. This versatile product functions as a high-quality insulation, vapour barrier, and air barrier all in one. Boasting an outstanding R-value of R5.7 per inch and competitive Long-Term Thermal Resistance (LTTR), it delivers top-tier thermal performance. Installers can expect a smooth, consistent application, highly predictable yields, and excellent stability across varying temperatures — perfect for coastal Halifax, Bedford and Truro weather.
