Spray Foam Training Alberta

Polysource Industries

AB - SK - MB Spray Foam Course Information

Jump to Course
Polysource Industries hosts professional spray foam training in Alberta, SK, and MB. Depending on class sizes, these sessions are held directly in Alberta, or in a neighboring Prairie province, or at the Polysource headquarters in Langley, BC. In order to purchase and apply commercial polyurethane systems in Canada, applicators must hold valid certification under the national CAN/ULC S705.2 standard. Urethane Foam Consultants (UFC) acts as the independent licensing body for Enerlab's medium-density polyurethane spray foam, Enerthane Eco. For businesses looking to grow their service offering, additional courses in polyurea protective coatings (such as Platinum Liners and RoofArmor) or modern slab-jacking using concrete lifting and leveling systems (ProLift) can be taken. Course Rationale

Applicable Standard: CAN/ULC-S705.2 (Standard for Thermal Insulation Spray Applied Rigid Polyurethane Foam, Medium Density – Installation)

Affiliated Quality Assurance Provider (QAP): Urethane Foam Consultants (UFC)

Delivery Partner: Polysource Industries Inc.

Designed in strict alignment with the CAN/ULC-S705.2 national standard, this course bridges the gap between building science theory and mechanical execution for medium-density spray foam application in Canada. Delivered in partnership with Polysource Industries Inc. and certified through Urethane Foam Consultants (UFC), this program provides the mandatory educational framework required for legal licensing under the National Building Code. By blending classroom theory with live, hands-on field application, the training ensures installers are fully compliant, safety-conscious, and mechanically self-reliant on-site.

Core Learning Objectives & Value:

Regulatory Compliance: Meets all CAN/ULC standards, municipal codes, and site logbook (Daily Work Record) documentation requirements to mitigate contractor liability.

Chemical & Material Mastery: Teaches fluid dynamics, substrate moisture testing, and environmental monitoring (dew point, relative humidity) to optimize chemical yield and prevent delamination.

Mechanical Competency: Provides direct, practical experience configuring, operating, and troubleshooting high-pressure plural-component systems (like Graco Reactor platforms), transfer pumps, and spray guns.

On-Site Safety: Focuses on job-site containment strategies, proper personal protective equipment (PPE) deployment, and fresh-air supplied respirator protocols.

Product Info

Polyurethane foam is a specialized plural-component material engineered by combining an A-side (the reactive isocyanate "activator") and a B-side (the resin, which consists of a proprietary blend of polyols, fire retardants, surfactants, and blowing agents). Enerthane Eco is a premier, 2lb medium-density closed-cell spray polyurethane foam. Because of the chemical off-gassing during application, a supplied fresh-air respirator and full personal protective equipment (PPE) are strictly required on-site while spraying. Enerthane Eco delivers a high-performance continuous insulation layer, vapour barrier, and air barrier all within a single application. Featuring an exceptional thermal rating of R5.7 per inch alongside competitive Long-Term Thermal Resistance (LTTR) values, it yields excellent energy savings for your customers. Sprayers rely on its uniform spray pattern, dependable chemical yields, and stability during weather shifts—making it well suited for cold weather across Edmonton, Calgary, and the Canadian Prairies.
