Frothing of Spray Mixture At Gun

  • Heat of components too high at gun.
  • Off-ratio ("B" rich).

Blow Holes

Drop of moisture on surface being sprayed (rain, perspiration, wet gun air, etc.).

Pinholes

  • Operating pressure of components too low (poor mix).
  • Improper impingers and/or disc/tip.
  • Heat of components too low at gun (poor mix).
  • Off-ratio.

Poor Interlayer Adhesion

  • Too great a delay between passes.
  • Moisture on surface (high humidity, condensation, fog, dew, etc.).
  • Passes too thin.
  • Off-ratio ("B" starved).

Poor Cell Structure

  • Passes too thin.
  • Off-ratio.
  • Pressure of components too low at gun (poor mix).
  • Temperature of components too low at gun (poor mix).
  • Second pass applied too quickly.

Slow Reactivity

  • Off-ratio ("B" starved).
  • Heat of components too low at gun (poor mix).
  • Using improper reaction rate version for ambient conditions.
  • Improper impingers and/or disc/tip.
  • Temperature of substrate too low.

Rough Surface

  • Heat of components too low at gun.

  • Heat of components too high at gun ("Popcorn" texture).
  • Using improper reaction rate for ambient conditions.
  • Overspray.
  • Spraying in too high winds.
